Prediction magazine is one of the longest existing new-age magazines on the shelf, first finding life back in 1936 and it is fair to say that it has experienced a great deal of changes over the years. Indeed, when I reviewed this same magazine in 2006, I was less than enthused with the questionable editorial copy and presence of 'call Psychic Nora' adverts that seem to dominate most magazines of this nature today.
However, 2010 saw a full cosmetic over-haul, and with editor Alexandra Wenman in the driving seat, Prediction Magazine has now re-claimed its right to call itself the 'formula one' of new-age magazines.
The articles are expertly written, the editorial thorough and informed and the adverts kept to a minimum allowing those not interested in them to read the clever content without being hit by the proverbial advertising bat!
THE SECTIONS:
The magazine falls into four distinct categriesr.
Fortune Telling - From Tarot, Numerology and dreams to lesser known forms of divination such as Romany Fortune Telling and Hydromancy (the art of using water in fortune telling - an article so good, I've since taken to bathing outside in the kids paddling pool at midnight!!)
Astrology -Full monthly horoscopes per sign in which Prediction astrologer Rick Hayward is so detailed and accurate that I had to check the airing cupboard to ensure he wasn't in there taking notes! There’s also Chinese and Native American horoscopes to enjoy also.s!
Witchcraft & spirituality - With a brilliant monthly 'Wiccapedia' (pagan and witchcraft guide), Practical magic guidance and even an article calling for readers to 'Try A Little Tantra!' (This requires standing naked in front of your partner and saying what you like about them...Mr Psychic Fairy's answer of 'You're not holding the hoover' was less than well-received!)
Health & Lifestyle - Tips on yoga, spiritual living and a plethora of alternative and holistic health solutions to try.
Prediction Magazine has managed to produce a monthly gem of approximately 100 pages of pure enlightenment and self-empowerment and at a monthly cost of £3.25, I can honestly say it is worth every penny.
To conclude, Mr Psychic Fairy has gifted me with a subscription so that I can indulge my guilty pleasure every month. I asked him why and he said 'It's because I like seeing you happy'!!! Bless him....now what page was the 'tantra' article on again?
